Joan M. Zemke, age 93 passed away on Feb. 15, 2024. Joan was born Aug. 8, 1930, in Rochester, MN to Milton and Alta (Love) Fiegel. She married Glen Zemke and his job relocated him to Shawnee, OK in 1975. Once arriving in Shawnee, Joan set to making her home beautiful. Gardening was one of Joan’s life passions, even when she was no longer able to physically move the dirt, she was still involved in planning, designing and overseeing planting.
Joan is survived by her cherished daughter Linda Kane of Norman.
Preceding her in passing was her parents; husband; brothers: Charles Fiegel, John Fiegel, and Joseph Fiegel, as well as her daughter Julie Zemke.
A memorial ceremony to celebrate Joan’s life will be held at 11am Saturday, Mar. 2, 2024, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Shawnee with Reverend Matthew Tassey officiating.
