Third Annual Touch A Truck & Beyond Has 72 Participants

In this third annual event organized by the Pottawatomie County Emergency Management,  there were 72 agencies and community partners in attendance, including fire departments, law enforcement agencies, large equipment operators, two helicopters and others.

  • Noah Neely, 3, of Shawnee, is held by Richard Neely, as he pets Princess the paint horse during the Touch a Truck and Beyond event on April 6. Atop Princess is Detective Jan Montgomery of the McLoud Police Department, who points out the soft mane. Montgomery was at the event with her husband, Roger Montgomery, a crime scene investigator at MPD who rode Dollar. The horses are used for parades and other events, and R. Montgomery said they hope to begin patrolling Wes Watkins Reservoir with them, as well..
