Jayne H. Pope passed away on July 10, 2024. She was born February 13, 1936, in Hartsville, TN, to George and Bertha (Gammon) Hughes. Jayne married Charlie R. Pope Sr. on March 11, 1961, in Ozark, AL. She attended OBU in 1981 and worked as a dietician at Sunset Nursing Home for 30 years.
Jayne was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, William Boyd Pope, Randy Wayne Pope, and George Pryor; sister, France Wilburn; and brother, Walter Hughes.
Survivors include her son, Charlie and Barbra Pope of Macomb, OK, and their four children and 11 grandchildren; daughters, Bev and Chris Chandler of Yukon, OK and their three children and three grandchildren; Jeanniece Pope and Tracy Black of Asher, OK and their four children and five grandchildren; April and Patrick Boggs of Shawnee, OK and their two children, Tara Jayne and Clay Blevins and their three children of Moore, OK; and other extended family and friends.
Services were held July 13, 2024, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Tecumseh, with Reverend Mack Peercy officiating. Burial followed at Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
