McLoud Graduates 13 Valedictorians and One Salutatorian
Alan Amberson, Salutatorian
Alan Amberson, son of Cindy and Derek Amberson, is the 2024 McLoud High School.
He has earned the Presidential Scholarship and the Herman Meinder’s Scholarship.
Alan played soccer for the McLoud Redskins and MidWest City Vision teams.
He plans to attend Oklahoma City University to study accounting.
Ciera Dunn
Ciera Dunn, daughter of Ronald and Brandi Dunn, is a Valedictorian of McLoud High School. She received numerous awards, including Academic Achievement Awards in Honors Oklahoma History, U.S. History, English I, Biology, Algebra II, and Zoology. Ciera also earned the Janice Stotts Academic Award and an Academic Letter Jacket. Her achievements extend to athletics, where she placed 1st in archery for State Centershot bullseye and 3-D, and 2nd Place High School Female at the National Archery in Schools Program Grand State Tournament.
She was also active in various clubs and organizations, including Archery, Key Club, Academic Team, Biology Club, National Honor Society, Gifted and Talented, and the National Society of High School Scholars. Ciera has volunteered with various Kiwanis activities, the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, and Wagoner Community Outreach.
She plans to attend Connors State College to acquire a PhD in Ancient History.
Coulson Dale Kennedy
Coulson Dale Kennedy, son of Robert and Tracy Kennedy, is a Valedictorian of McLoud High School. He is recognized for his achievements in academics as a member of the National Honor Society.
Coulson was recognized as the 3A-1 Linebacker of the Year and also received the Varsity Football Team MVP award. He is involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Gifted & Talented programs and has volunteered to coach Little League football.
Coulson plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma and major in Physical Education, with the goal of becoming a Strength and Conditioning Coach at a major college football program.
Elizabeth Maxwell
Elizabeth Maxwell, daughter of Darrell and Laureen Maxwell, is a McLoud High School valedictorian. She excels in academics and athletics, earning honors such as the Tri-County Cross Country team and Cross Country Senior All-Star recognition. Elizabeth has placed in Cross Country regionals three times and in track and field twice. She is an Academic Letterman Jacket recipient, on the Superintendent's honor roll, and holds scholarships at Rose State College.
Active in clubs like the Native American Honors Society and Student Council Vice-President, Elizabeth volunteers at food banks, church activities, and a nursing home.
She plans to play soccer at Rose State College and pursue a nursing degree at the University of Oklahoma and later specialize in special needs nursing.
Nickolas Phillips
McLoud High School Valedictorian Nickolas Phillips, son of Natasha and Robert Phillips. He plans to attend college at OSU and pursue a career at Tinker after graduation.
Andrew Schoon
McLoud Valedictorian Andrew Schoon is the son of Michael and Crystal Schoon.
He has excelled academically and in extracurricular activities, receiving Superior ratings in Music Theory and Trumpet Solo at the State level in 2023 and 2024. Andrew has also earned Outstanding Student Awards in Drama, Music Appreciation, and Band.
He has been active in various clubs and organizations, including Business Professionals of America, Link Crew, National Honor Society, Redskin Regiment Band, and Drama. He has volunteered as a student partner for Special Olympics and served as a DJ for the 2023-2024 Back to School Bash and Prom.
Andrew plans to attend the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Audio Production.
Christopher Smith
Christopher Smith, son of Christopher Smith, Stacey Smith, and Morgan Smith, is the valedictorian of McLoud High School. He has achieved academic excellence with honors such as the Superintendent’s Honor Roll, Principal’s Honor Roll, and memberships in the National Honor Society and Oklahoma Honor Society.
Christopher is also recognized for his athletic achievements, including the Redskin Pride Award and First Team Linebacker in football.
Active in various clubs and organizations, including the National Honor Society, Gifted and Talented, Key Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Christopher is dedicated to both academic and community involvement. He contributes to his community through landscaping and upkeep of sports facilities at his school, as well as donations to food drives and clothing donations.
Christopher's future plans include attending college, where he will continue to pursue his academic and personal goals.
Kaylee Stewart
Kaylee Stewart, daughter of Jennifer Haese and Brian Stewart, is a valedictorian of her class at McLoud High School.
She is a member of the National Honor Society and has earned an Academic Letter Jacket for her academic achievements.
Kaylee is actively involved in community service, dedicating over 80 hours to volunteering at the Make Promises Happen Camp and Conference Center in Guthrie, OK.
Her future plans include attending Oklahoma State University in Oklahoma City to study architecture.
Alyssa Sudduth
McLoud Valedictorian Alyssa Sudduth is the daughter of Duane and Keeley Sudduth. She has achieved academic success, earning recognition on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and receiving an Academic Letterman Jacket.
Alyssa is actively involved in several clubs and organizations, including Link Crew, National Honor Society, Art Club, Gifted and Talented, Lunch Bunch, and Focus Club. She participates in community activities such as painting parking spots, volunteering at parades, and organizing canned food drives.
Alyssa's future plans include completing her Associate's in Nursing at Rose State College and transferring to a four-year university to earn her Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Madalynn Taylor
Valedictorian Madalynn Taylor is the daughter of Karyn and Eric Taylor. She has received multiple honors and awards, including Student of the Month for "Responsibility" two years in a row, Academic Letterman Jacket, and Superintendent's Honor Roll from Freshman to Junior year. Madalynn has taken Honors and Advanced Placement classes throughout high school.
She is actively involved in soccer, the Art Club, the National Honor Society (Vice President), Gifted and Talented, the Student Council, FOCUS (TRIO), the Key Club, the Bunch Lunch group, the McLoud Internship, and the BancFirst Leadership club.
Madalynn has volunteered extensively with SSM Junior Volunteer at SSM Shawnee Hospital, where her involvement and shadowing included rotations through the Women's Center, Acute care, Emergency room, Operating room, and ICU. This experience provided her with a wide view of the medical field. She participated in these activities during the summers of 2019 and 2023.
She has also participated in Coats for Kids and helped organize her high school's blood drives. Her future plans include earning her RN at Rose State College and eventually becoming a CRNA.
Jaiden Williams
Jaiden Williams, daughter of Tiffany and Jesse Williams, is a valedictorian at McLoud High School. She has earned the Janice Stotts’ Academic Letter Jacket and consistently made the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.
Jaiden is actively involved in Student Council, Academic Team, Gifted and Talented, and National Honor Society and serves as Vice President of the Senior Class. She has represented her school at Academic Team competitions and Student Council conventions and participated in community events such as homecoming parades and Halloween celebrations. Jaiden has also organized blood drives and volunteered to paint student and teacher parking spots at school.
Her future plans include attending the University of Oklahoma to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Jaiden aims to become a Registered Nurse specializing in labor and delivery.
Haylee Wooten
Valedictorian Haylee Wooten is the daughter of Sena Wooten and Marcus Wooten.
She was honored as Student of the Month in November 2023 and received academic achievement awards in History, Botany, Honors Geometry, and Film as Literature.
Haylee is a member of the National Honor Society, earned an Academic Letterman Jacket, and received a Valedictorian scholarship from the University of Oklahoma.
Haylee plans to attend the University of Oklahoma and major in psychology. She aims to pursue a doctorate in psychology and ultimately become a psychiatrist.
Cale Cardin, Santos Lujan, and Garrett Moore also graduated as Valedictorians of McLoud High School's 2024 senior class, but no bio information was available for these graduates.
