Oklahoma City Community College English Professor Jeff Provine leads the Haunted Downtown Shawnee tour for about 25 people on Oct. 11. Provine said Hamburger King is said to be haunted by its founder, Joseph Macsas, as well as its former owners who can be heard moving furntiture upstairs, since it was a furniture store. The Community Matters event was hosted by the Shawnee Public Library. Provine is also the author of "Haunted Shawnee OK," and he held a book signing at The Arts at 317 earlier that day.
