Shirley Florence Simpson, passed away Jan. 11, 2025. She was born July 20, 1940, to Fred and Lillie Mae (Polecat) Spoon. She was able to really help take care of her loved grandkids after she retired from General Motors in the early 2000’s.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Christine Watkins and Geraldine Abrams; infant sisters, Claudine and Chloe Spoon; brothers, Steve Spoon, Robert Spoon, Carl Spoon; and infant brother, Luther Spoon.
She is survived by her children: John Allen Spoon of Shawnee, Lesa R. Simpson and husband, Alex Blanchard, of Tecumseh, Flo Mann and husband, Glenn Mann, of Tecumseh, and Thurman Simpson of Tecumseh; her grandkids: Hillary Spoon, John Spoon Jr., Lillie Simpson, Chelsey Blanchard, Henry Blanchard and Raechel Simpson; her 10 great grandchildren; sister, Linda Foster of Tecumseh; brother, Virgil Little Charley of Little Axe; numerous nieces and nephews; other extended family members; and a host of friends, including her best friend, Elsie Patty.
Tribal rites began Jan. 13, 2025, at Brendle Corner with burial following at the Spoon Family Cemetery.
