James Richard Dustman passed away on Jan. 20, 2025. James was born April 09, 1946 in Shawnee, OK to Desi Carmon and Virginia Lou Dustman. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1964, then enlisted into the United States Army. He served valiantly in Vietnam from Oct. 19, 1967 to Oct. 18, 1968. James was awarded a Bronze Star and was honorably discharged from active service in 1968. He continued with the Army Reserves as a sergeant for many years. James began a30-year career at Tinker Air Force Base as a civilian while also earning an associates degree at Seminole State.
James was preceded in death by his parents, younger brother Ronnie, daughter Jami Lyn Dustman, and granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Dustman.
He is survived by his sister Karen Hawkins; son and daughter-in-law Brent and Lori Dustman; daughter Chanda Dustman; grandchildren Talon Wolf, Megan Melter, Matt Melter, Daniel Dustman, and Hannah Dustman; and many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services were held Jan. 28, 2025 at Resthaven Memorial Park, 16006 S Rock Creek Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801.
