Juanita Idell Megehee, age 97, passed away Feb. 3, 2025. She was born Nov. 14, 1927 in Gotebo, OK. to Lee and Lottie (Butler) Drain. She attended Romulus grade school and Macomb High School, where she was a basketball player. Juanita married Douglas F. Megehee on Nov. 08, 1946 in Shawnee, OK., and they celebrated 54 years of marriage before his passing.
Juanita is preceded in death by; her parents; her husband; her grandson, Douglas Leroy Megehee; her sisters, Pauline Dutton, Lucille Day, Mary Quay and Ruby Hunt; her brothers, Calvin Drain, James Drain and Junior Drain.
Those left to cherish her memory are; son, Leroy Megehee and wife Kathy of Tecumseh; son, Pastor Dan Megehee and wife Tammy of Earlsboro; daughter, Linda Anderson of Shawnee; seven grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services were held Feb. 7, 2025 at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery, Macomb, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
