Darline E. Chastain passed away April 18, 2025. Darline was born April 5, 1933 in Ponca City, OK, to Bert Augustus and Lucy Rodman. She married Melburn Chastain on Oct. 07, 1955 in Okmulgee, OK. They celebrated 43 years before his passing in 1998. Darline was raised in the Shawnee area. She and Melburn both worked at Tinker Field until their respective retirements.
Survivors include her daughters Kathy Glines and husband Kenneth of Porum, OK, Carol Hartman and husband Robert of Shawnee; granddaughters: Ashley Golda and husband Eric of Moore, OK, Jennifer McCabe and husband Mike of Clayton, NC, Tiffany Lok and husband Al of Great Falls, VA; great grandsons: Seth McCabe and Oliver Lok as well as a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.
Darline was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Mary James, Eugene Rodman, Betty Sampson, Oma Laughlin and Margaret Rackley; as well as her grandson Curtis Snyder.
A funeral ceremony to celebrate Darline’s life will be held at 11 am April 24 2025 in the chapel at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service with Kurt Bueford officiating. Following the ceremony, Darline will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Melburn at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral & Cremation Service.
