Another Successful Balloon Fest!

  • Sabina Dindy and her daughter, Deja Dindy, 5, both of Edmond, ride on a camel led by Michael Massey of Camels Unlimited in the Kids' Zone of the FireLake Fireflight Balloon Festival on Aug. 9. This is the second year for the festival to offer camel rides, and they were included with the purchase of a wrist band.

  • Lucian Collins, 9, and Rowen Collins, 5, both of Shawnee, offer feed to Ruby Doo the Kangaroo at the Petting Zoo during the FireLake Fireflight Balloon Festival on Aug. 9. The petting zoo was free and also included tortoises, goats, and Gary the Goose, and it traveled from Adair with the Camels Unlimited camel rides, said zookeeper Natalee Sharp.

  • Rick Toops, Heath Wright and Larry Hight, of the band Ricochet, perform at the FireLake Fireflight Balloon Festival on Aug. 9 to round out the night. Ricochet was originally from Tulsa and had their debut hit in 1996. Craig Wayne Boyd and Jesse Keith Whitley also played that evening, and Cam Allen performed on Aug. 8.
