I Was Once an “All-American”

In my third year in the United States Air Force, I was assigned to Northeast Cape Air Force Station on St. Lawrence Island, Alaska. The island is about 120 miles southwest of Nome. (BTW: a good Rand McNally map will show it in the Bering Sea.)
