Artie M. Sparks Nixon passed away on January 7, 2024. She was 99 years old.
Artie was born on December 31, 1924 in Shawnee, OK to Henry and Eunice Maxey. She married Dee Sparks on October 2, 1944. They were married 41 years before his death in 1986.
Artie worked for a short time in real estate. She was a Sunday School teacher and volunteered at Mission Hill Hospital for several years and was a G.A. Leader.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Samuel Sparks, and daughter, Deeana Sparks.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mel Sparks of Norman, OK, son, Max Sparks of CA, four grandchildren and multiple greatgrandchildren.
Services were held January 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral & Cremation Service.
