Audrey passed away on August 1, 2023. She was born to Gracie and Victor Sanders on September 26, 1935, in Hedley, TX.
She attended Shawnee schools. At 17, she met Charles Freeman, and they started a family at a young age and were married for 32 years. Audrey lived in over 24 states, passing through most of them, before settling back in Oklahoma in 1966. Audrey was a tireless partner, whether it was assisting with a small engine repair shop or working with horses on a small horse farm. After Charles passed, she cleaned a home for a family that she came to love and held that time and memory close. She always regretted not finishing high school, so in her mid-life, she worked hard and achieved her GED.
She is survived by son Woody, and wife Terri and daughter Penny. She has 10 Grandchildren, two preceding her in death, and 20 Great-great grandchildren. She has two surviving sisters, Elizabeth Harris and Evelyn Sanders and sisterin- law Ann Freeman. And many, many nieces and nephews.
Please, in lieu of flowers, any donations should go to St. Jude’s Children foundation in her name, as she was a supporter for over 20 years, making it a priority on her limited income.
Audrey was laid to rest in Dale Cemetery beside Charles. The family will have a Life Celebration in early November, we will send information out at a later date.
