Bernard Gray Sharp, 93, passed away on Nov. 30, 2023.
Bernard was born April 10, 1930 near Tecumseh, OK to Jesse Maynard Sharp and Leoto Izora (Thompson) Sharp. He graduated from Asher High School in 1949.
On Nov. 27, 1957, Mr. Sharp married Nella Lou Knight and they were married 41 years when she passed away on August 20, 1999.
In March 2001, Mr. Sharp married Wanda June Terry of Shawnee.
Mr. Sharp earned a Bachelors degree in Mathematics- Education from East Central University and a Masters degree in Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma.
He served two years in the United States Navy from 1953-1955 and was stationed in Puerto Rico.
Mr. Sharp began his teaching career in Seymour, TX ended it in La Junta, CO after teaching there for 31 years.
Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his wife Nella Lou, his parents, two sisters, Beryl Herriman and Doris Cooper, and four brothers, Cecil, Keith Allen, Maynard and Darrell Sharp.
He is survived by his wife June Sharp of the home, daughter Anita Sharp of Shawnee, sons and daughters-in-law Allen and Sheri Sharp of Edmond, Russell and Dawn Sharp of Edmond, Brian and Julie Sharp of Edmond; grandchildren Josh Fivecoate, Austin Sharp, Krysia Sharp, Tanner Sharp, Colton Sharp, Bailee Sharp, Quincee Sharp, Walker Sharp, Noah Sharp and Sarah Sharp, sister in law Mary Louise Sharp and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Dec. 5, 2023 at Walker Funeral Chapel. Burial followed at Tecumseh Cemetery.
