Beverly Gail (Bostick) Robinson

Body

Beverly Gail (Bostick) Robinson passed away April 3, 2025. Beverly was born in Dimmitt, TX May 20, 1956 to Dave and Mae (Peeler) Bostick. Beverly graduated from Macomb High School in 1974.

After high school graduation Beverly went to Central State University, known as University of Central Oklahoma today. She studied Journalism, Photography and writing while attending classes in Edmond. Beverly’s love of journalism led her to a career at The Shawnee News-Star for 18 years where she was a reporter, writer, photographer and finished her career there as a managing Editor.

After leaving the Shawnee News-Star, Beverly set about to produce and publish her own newspaper. It was with this venture that she met her late husband John Robinson Jr. For over ten years they put out a monthly and sometimes weekly newspaper focusing on events in the South Pottawatomie County area. Beverly believed that news didn’t always need to be dreadful and the world would be a better place if local news reflected the good in people. With her husband they formed “The Canadian Sands.” Beverly would gather information from local churches, schools, cities, towns, and everyday events such weddings, parties, awards won, parades, and such. A person would be hard-pressed to find discouraging news in any of the past Canadian Sands’ publications.

Beverly and John were married at Wanette United Methodist Church in 2011.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband John Robinson Jr. and parents Dave and Mae Bostick.

She is survived by her step-sons Rob, Randy, and Tony Robinson, a step-daughter Rebecca Lloyd, a sister Janet Taylor of Oklahoma City, OK, a sister Rosalea Griffith of Liberal, KS, numerous nieces and nephews, and her favorite little dog Cricket.

Services were held April 12th, 2025 at the Wanette United Methodist Church, with Reverend Ralph S. Wangler, officiating.
