Catherine K Byrne, 93, passed away May 17th, 2024. Catherine was born on December 23rd, 1930, in Abilene Tx. to Harold and Catherine Keith. She graduated high school in Bemidji MN. She met and married her husband James William Byrne while in nursing school. They were married in Minneapolis Mn. And both began working at Douglas AFB in MWC. She later attended Bible college. She retired from the State of Oklahoma motor pool as head accountant. After retiring she moved to Alaska to do missionary work. Upon returning to Oklahoma she continued teaching a Bible study at the Towers in Shawnee until at 90yrs of age she became too ill to continue.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather Edward Wulfekuhle; her husband; daughter, Michelle Collins; grandsons Joshua and Cody Collins and great-granddaughter Abby Collins.
She is survived by her daughter Pamela Smith, granddaughter Mandy Wolfe and grandson Timothy Smith, great-grand daughters Randee, Kodee, Sydney, Gracelynne, Jazlynne, and Aubrey. Great-grandsons Jacob, Josh, Brian Jr., Jayden, Dillion, Donovan, and Talon. She was also blessed with 5 great- great grandchildren.
Services were held June 1st at Abiding Grace Tabernacle, Shawnee OK.
