Cecelia Ann Thornton of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, Mar. 12, 2025 in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 88.
Cecelia was born on May 12, 1936 in Prague, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Joseph Michael and Edith Esther (Irvine) Obsivac.
Cecelia grew up in Prague and was a 1954 graduate of Prague High School. After high school, she made her home in Tecumseh for many years and then Norman for many years.
Following high school, Cecelia went to work in the medical field, where she worked in the finance department at the McBride Clinic for several years and then the Shawnee Medical Clinic, where she worked until her retirement.
Cecelia was a skilled basketball player in school and her love for basketball carried on throughout her life. She was an avid Oklahoma City Thunder fan and loved cheering on the Sooners. In her spare time, Cecelia enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. Cecelia was a social butterfly. She loved to talk and laugh with people, and she never met a stranger.
Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents; her son and daughter-in-law, Barry Dale Hill and Kimberly White; and her grandson, Joshua Hill.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Gary Del Hill and his wife, Diane Hampton, Terry James Hill and his wife, Deborah Dixon, and Sherri Gail Jackson; seven grandchildren, Lance Hill, Christin Thompkins and her husband, Nick, Justin Hill and his wife, Brianna, Ashley Hill, Jeremy Hill, Megan Aguirre and her husband, Adam, and Samuel “Katie” Jackson.
Services under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services, were held Mar. 19, 2025, at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague. Burial followed at the Prague Catholic Cemetery in Prague. An online guestbook is available at www. parksbrothers.net.
