Daphene Malvine Woods (Miller) passed away on Nov. 1, 2024. She was born in Bray OK on Aug. 2, 1933 to Pearl Olene Miller and James McKortus Miller. She graduated from Bray High School in May 1951 and soon after met the love of her life, Roy Buddy Woods. They married on Aug. 10, 1951.
Daphene and Roy established the Bull of the Woods Angus Farm, a symbol of their shared dedication to ranching and farming.
Daphene actively participated in the Hagar Home Demonstration Club and served as a 4-H leader at North Rock Creek and Dale schools.
Daphene is survived by her daughter, Althea Woods; her son, Roy L. Woods and wife, Pam; grandchildren, Chris Hill and wife, Jenny, Kirk Hill and wife, Cindy, Whitney Lopez (Woods) and husband, Tripp, and Thomas Woods; great-grandchildren, Payton Hill and wife, Patty, Hunter Hill and wife, Allison, Kinsley Hill, Carson Hill, Lucille Lopez and Lillie Lopez; and great-great-grandson, Asher Hill. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Dee Miller, and her sister-in-law, Letha Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Eska Miller; and her sister, Onadel Seymour.
Services were held Nov. 6, at the Dale Church of Christ, officiated by David Cannon and song service by Dwayne Smith. Interment followed at the Dale Cemetery.
