Daylene “Dale” Kalanialohaikauinohea Cockett-Claytor passed away April 23, 2023. Daylene was born on November 23, 1930 in Molokai, Hawaii. She became a member of the Free will Baptist Church in Earlsboro on 22nd day of April, 2012 having been baptized on the 4th day of November 1934 at St. Andrews Cathedral Church, Honolulu. Daylene attended school in Honolulu as well as Oklahoma State University, studying hotel restaurant management. She met Denver Lee Claytor, Sr., a member of the US Army in Hawaii and they married on May 6, 1950. Some of the places she managed included the University of Oklahoma Student Union, Pott County Supper Club, Kona Surf Resort and the first instructor for the Food Service Occupation two year program at Gordon Cooper VoTech in Shawnee.She was preceded in death by her father Nathan Kalani and mother Lucy Koopaulu Cockett, a son James Douglas “JD” Claytor, a great-grandson Landry J. Claytor, three sisters Dorothea, Josephine and Stella.Those left to cherish her memory are a brother Nathan K. Cockett II, wife Diney, a daughter Tracie Jo Osborne husband Rex, three sons, Mike Claytor wife Lisa, Denver Lee Claytor Jr., and David Claytor, wife Jamie, four grandsons, four granddaughters, eighteen great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.Daylene will be laid to rest at a graveside ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Friday May 5th at Johnson Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral & Cremation Service.
