Eleanor Ruth Davis passed away October 3, 2023 following a brief illness Ruth was born May 19, 1926 in Shawnee to Erma LaVeta and William Thomas Henderson and virtually resided in Shawnee most of her life.
She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1944. She graduated from the St. Anthony’s School of Nursing in OKC in 1948.
She married James E. Davis, who preceded her in death Oct. 21, 1992. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Jamie Lou Davis in 2017.
Survivors include daughter Pat Mc-Cormick and husband Mike of Shawnee, daughter Nellie Schoonover of Lone Grove, granddaughters, Meghan Jackson and husband Terry of Norman, Sarah Cathey and husband Brandon of Ardmore, stepgranddaughter Cheryl Gee and husband Audie of Ardmore, step-grandsons, Paul Schoonover, and James Allen Schoonover and wife Christy of the Ardmore area, great-grandsons, Liam Henry Jackson of Norman, and Wyatt James Cathey of Ardmore.
Services were held October 6, 2023 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Shawnee Salvation Army Captains Ian and Brittany Carr officiating.
