Gene C. Stroud passed away July 18, 2023.
Gene was born in Macomb, Oklahoma on November 30, 1938.
Gene attended both Macomb and Earlsboro schools. Gene proudly joined the Navy on April 3, 1956 and was honorably discharged on April 2, 1962. Gene then began his career at Tinker Air Force Base where he retired in 1982. Upon retirement, Gene became a home inspector, managed a used car lot, and worked at Triangle Horse Sales for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Vertie Stroud; brothers Josh, Glenn and Keith Stroud.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 63 years, Joan Stroud of the home; son, Greg Stroud and wife Brenda of Shawnee; daughter, Cara Kegin and husband Glen of Shawnee; four grandchildren: Zac and Dana Stroud, Tyler and Tomoka Stroud, Alyssa Cawthon, and Whitney and Ryan Coots; seven great-grandchildren, Callaway, Harper, Lyncoln, Baylen, Lyla, Cohen and Kenedi; sisters Nellene Perry and Irene McAlister; brother, Joe Stroud and wife Vera; many nieces and nephews and beloved friends.
Services were held July 24, 2023 at Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Sparks and Ricci Head under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
