Judith Anne Hawkins

Judith Anne Hawkins passed away June 21, 2023. She was born April 21, 1945 in Anadarko, OK to JB and Wanda Lee (Davis) Slemp. Judith was raised in Gracemont, OK and graduated with the class of 1964 from Gracemont High School. She married Dwight Hawkins on June 7, 1964 in Gracemont, OK. Judith was a Southern Baptist pastor’s wife, church pianist, church secretary, children’s choir director, substitute school teacher, operated an in home daycare, and was a seamstress for the public. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, JB and brother: James Richard Slemp. Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter and son-in-law, April and Clint Dawkins of Shawnee, OK; one son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Julie Hawkins of Cushing, OK; four grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; two sisters and two brother-inlaws, Carolyn and Ken Guthrie of Oklahoma City, OK and Janie Rider West and husband Ted of Stillwater, OK; and other extended family and friends. Services were held June 26, 2023 at Sharon Baptist Church with son-in-law, Reverend Clint Dawkins, Sharon Baptist Church officiating. Committal followed at Gracemont Cemetery, Gracemont, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
