Retired Master Sergeant, Larry Eldon Spybuck, Be-Me-Ne-Ba-We, a proud elder of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe and Veteran of the United States Air Force passed away Dec. 5, 2024. He was born to James Elmer Spybuck and Ramona Mack-Spybuck-Yones on April 29, 1939 in Shawnee, OK.

The start of his adventurous journey in life took him to Haskell Institute in 1957. During this time, he flourished, due to his unbelievable talent in various sports. Specifically, his wisdom, strength, guidance and knowledge for softball fastpitch allowed him to meet, teach and travel far. The talent of Larry Spybuck was known by many.

On, Oct. 7, 2013, Larry was inducted into the Haskell hall of fame. A well-deserved honor. Upon completing his studies at Haskell, his talent would take him to the next part of his journey, and he enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1960. Larry carried his love and respect of the USA proudly and made it known he served for “26 years and 25 days”. He was stationed all over the world including Greece, Greenland, Iceland,
