Linda Sue McMahan passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023.
Linda was born on November 13, 1952, in Oklahoma City to Roy and Betty (Reitz) McMahan.
She graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1971. She then went on to receive a Bachelor ’s Degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1976 and a Master’s in Natural Science from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Linda began her career in Tecumseh teaching science and coaching basketball and retired from Shawnee Middle School.
In November of 2006 she became a Volunteer Puppy Raiser at Canine Companions. Every week, she and Kaiser, one of her puppies she raised, would go to the VA hospital in Oklahoma City to visit the patients there to bring them a little hope and help brighten their day.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Nancy McMahan.
She is survived by her siblings: Cindy Bidack, Steve McMahan, Jerry McMahan and his wife Stacy, nieces and nephews: Kristen Tate (Brian), Kyle Honeycutt, Emily Gideon (Bobby), Adam Honeycutt (Shelby), Kate McMahan, Molly McPhillips (Tyler), Olivia Morgan (Nathan) and Aaron Palmer (Tosha), great-nieces and nephews: Brynley, Jax, Madi, Beckett, Eleanor, Haven, Hadley, Brylee, Roy and Louise and other extended family and friends.
Services were held May 23, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
