Mary Elizabeth Malone passed away Nov. 7, 2024. Beth was born on July 16, 1948 to Russell D and Mabel Wilson in Lawton, OK. She graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1966. She attended and graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK with a double major in Education and Music and received her Bachelors of Arts degree, Cum Laude. Beth later attended East Texas State University (now Texas A&M Commerce) and earned her Master of Education degree. Beth married Gary Malone on Nov. 28, 1969. She taught elementary school in Shawnee, OK and in TX. She also taught basic English skills at Trinity Valley Community College in Terrell, TX for students returning to school to further their education. Her passion for teaching carried her through 40 years of sharing and caring for her students.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mike Wilson and wife Gayl and sister in law Carolyn Wilson.
Beth is survived by her husband Gary, son Michael and wife Brittany, granddaughters Mackenzie and Brooklyn and her older brother Russell Wilson and brother’s in law, sister in laws and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Mary will be held Nov. 16, 2024 from 9 am to 9:45 am at Resthaven Funeral Home, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 16006 S Rock Creek Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801.
