Reta Jane Bowen passed away June 12, 2025. She was born Sept. 24, 1939 in Asher, OK to J. Hal and Loretta Owen. Reta graduated Asher High School as salutatorian in 1957 and later graduated from East Central University, Ada, OK. She then began teaching at Asher Elementary School where she taught for twenty-five years.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Kimberly Holman.
She is survived by her husband, Murl Bowen, grandson Corey Holman and wife Caylie, son-inlaw Ron Holman, one great-granddaughter Anna Jane Holman, and many friends and family.
Services were held June 17, 2025 at Tecumseh First Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Hamilton officiating, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
