Rev. David H. Peters passed away October 7, 2023.
David H. Peters was born in Clovis NM, August 2, 1959, he was the son of J.R and Freda Peters of Shawnee.
He was a licensed journeyman plumber and gasfitter with the local 344 union for 12 years and ran his own plumbing company as Peters Plumbing for over 14 years. He served as youth pastors of the First Assembly of God Church in Shawnee, OK. In 1988 he received his ordained ministers license from the Assemblies of God and the Berean College, and in 1991 he accepted a position as Senior Pastor of the Weleetka Assembly of God Church and went on to accept a position with the Pentecostal Church of God for a home missions project in Wetumka OK. He appeared on the Praise The Lord Program in 1998, and accepted a position as Senior Pastor at the Shawnee Cornerstone Assembly Church in Shawnee, OK where he remained the pastor, and served in the ministry alongside his wife and family until his time to join his heavenly father. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Deborah McClendon.
He is survived by his wife Regina of 44 years, daughter Tiffany Stringfellow her spouse Aron, David Scott Peters, his wife Amanda, Daphne Delk her spouse Joshua, Lindsey Cox, her spouse Dylan, Joshua Logan Peters, Tyler Maxwell Peters; 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and one on the way; one brother Jim Peters of Shawnee, and his wife Carolyn; one uncle Charley Ballou and his wife Brenda and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were held October 11, 2023 at Cornerstone Assembly, 1000 East 11th Street, Shawnee, OK with David Scott Peters and Reverend James Walter officiating. Burial followed at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Shawnee under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
