Robert Lee “Bob” Atkinson passed away Jan. 13, 2025. He was born Aug. 26, 1940 in Shawnee, OK to Raymond and Helen (Hoover) Atkinson. He graduated from Shawnee High School. Bob married Bette June Potts on April 10, 1959 in Shawnee, OK at the First Presbyterian Church. Bob served in the Army during the Korean war and was honorably discharged. He worked for OG&E as a construction supervisor and oversaw the building of substations all over Oklahoma and Arkansas. He retired in 1995 after 33 years of service.
He was preceded in death by; his parents, and his brother, Ralph Edward Atkinson; sisterin- law, Ona Dean Atkinson; and brother-in-law, Wesley Potts.
Those left to cherish his memory are; wife; daughter, Debbie Dye and husband Terry of Shawnee; daughter, Terrie Ledinski and husband David of Shawnee; grandchildren, Austin Ledinski and wife Sadie of Seminole, Amanda Ledinski of Shawnee, Emily Ledinski of Shawnee, and Shelby Dye of Tecumseh; three great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Atkinson of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Mae Potts of Shawnee, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 9 am to 8 pm Jan. 16, 2025 at Cooper Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be 2 pm Jan. 17, at Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee with Pastor Keith Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
