Sharon Janelle Powell passed away Feb. 14, 2023 in Shawnee.
She was born Apr. 24, 1948 to James and Susie Doty in Mill Creek, OK.
Sharon attended Mill Creek Schools. She attended East Central University and Rose State College.
Sharon worked as a machinist at Tinker Air Force Base until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce Mitchell; and brother, Otis Doty.
Survivors include her daughter, Shari York and husband James Harvey; granddaughters, Maegan and Kyle Lester of Wilmington, NC and Yancey and Luis Diaz of Oklahoma City, OK; great-granddaughter, Juna Kai Lester; and other extended family and friends.
Services were held on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Doug Parker of Dale Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
