Solan Clarence Dodd passed away Tuesday, Oct.r 15, 2024. He was born September 7, 1937 to Oscar and Reba (Rust) Dodd in Shawnee, OK.
Solan graduated from Shawnee High School. He married Patricia Cook on Nov. 17, 1956 in Shawnee, OK. Solan started working for the Santa Fe Railroad, and later worked as a machinist for Tinker AFB for several years before retiring. After retirement he worked for Sunset Estates in Tecumseh and retired after several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia Dodd; his grandson, Ricky “Rooster” Hall; and son-in-law, Michael Craig Tucker; three brothers, Raymond, John, and Rowland; five sisters, Wilma, Lillian, MaeBelle, Jewell, and Thelma.
Survivors include; two daughters, Tammy Keller of Shawnee and Sheila Tucker of Shawnee; one son, Curtis and Deborah Caylor of Virginia; one grandchild, Tiffany and Jasen Truelove of Shawnee; five great-grandchildren, Allyson, Mia, Rowland, Landon, and Taber; lifelong friend, Steve Taylor; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Services were held Oct. 18, 2024 at Tecumseh Cemetery with officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
