William Arthur Warren (Bill) passed away March 10, 2023.
Bill was born in Holdenville, OK on October 8, 1940 to Arthur and Dorothy Warren.
He graduated in 1959 from Shawnee High School . He continued his quest for knowledge at St. Gregory’s College, Oklahoma Baptist University, and the University of Oklahoma, graduating Summa Cum Laude and earning Master’s degrees in both Math and Physics. Bill was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1966 and honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1972.
He celebrated a career at Tinker Air Force Base as a computer programmer and systems analyst for the B1-Bomber, retiring after 38 years of federal service. He enjoyed his time as an amateur radio operator and his call sign was WB5TZQ. He served Civil Defense as a storm chaser during the 70’s and 80’s. He married Jane C. Williams on November 24, 1962 and celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jane Warren of Shawnee; son, Larry Warren and wife Janna of Shawnee; daughter, Melissa Warren of Shawnee; two brothers, Steve Warren and wife Kaye of Lenoir, NC and Theron Smith and wife Christi of Edmond; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill’s most prized possessions were his granddaughters Grace and Faith Warren of Shawnee.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm with family present to greet friends from 5-7pm. A funeral ceremony for Bill will be held at the Walker Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 2:00 pm with pastor Larry Sparks officiating. Following the ceremony, Bill will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
