Dear Editor, On October 3, the City Commission approved calling a special election on January 10 so citizens could vote on a ½-cent sales tax increase. They said this is necessary to repay a $65 million OWRB loan borrowed for wastewater improvements. If this tax increase fails, they say water rates will increase substantially.
