A Successful Senior Night For Tecumseh Savages

NOTE: The Blanchard game has been changed to tonight (Thursday). The weather was a bit sloppy, but it was a successful Senior Night for the Savages last Friday at home.

There are many stories to be told about last Thursday’s game between Bethel (4-3, 2-2 District 2A-2) and Star Spencer (1-6, 0-4). Let’s begin with quarterback Cale Duncan. The sophomore got his first career start against the Bobcats, and he did not disappoint.

Meeker Beats Bethel For First Season Win

It looked like District 2A-2 was the Big XII Conference last Friday night at Meeker in the battle of the ‘Cats and ‘Dogs. The two teams combined for nearly 1,000 yards of total offense on 135 plays, producing nine touchdowns and 82 points.

Savages Suffer A Tough Loss Against Newcastle

It was a tough loss with a deceiving final score for the Tecumseh Savages last Friday night in the District 4A-2 opener. After a real battle for three quarters, the Savages trailed Newcastle 14-7 headed to the fourth quarter when the game fell apart, and Tecumseh fell 35-7.

BHS Wildcats Trounce Little Axe

Before Bethel won the toss and elected to receive the ball in the first half, and before Little Axe’s decision to defend the north end zone, thus giving Bethel the ball and the wind, there was the 2022 homecoming ceremony. Alex Tollett crowned Kloee Nichols homecoming queen.

Shawnee Inducts Hall of Fame Members Friday, Sept. 9

Inductees into the Shawnee High School Football Hall of Fame will be honored tomorrow (Friday) night at halftime of the Shawnee - Ardmore game. The 2022 inductees are Pastor Bob “Bobby” Jones, Brayle Brown, and Tristan Wyatt. Pastor Bob “Bobby” Jones graduated from Shawnee High School in 1960.
