Class 2A State Champion Dale Lady Pirates - More Pictures
Dale’s Ava Bell is fouled by two Howe defenders as she goes to the hoop in the fourth quarter of the Class 2A State Championship on March 11 at the State Fairgrounds Arena. The Dale Lady Pirates won state, 48-23, and their record for the season is 31-2. Tecumseh senior Lauren Taylor taps helmets with her teammates after she hit a home run in the third inning of the Class 5A State Tournament Quarterfinal game against Stilwell, held at the USA Softball Hall of Fame on May 9. The Lady Savages slow-pitch softball team won, 14-8, but they fell in the Semifinals, 1-5, to Perkins-Tryon that same day. They end their season with a record of 29-8. The Tecumseh Lady Savage Slow Pitch squad is accustomed to finishing their season in the State Tournament and that trend continued this year. The Dale Pirates are State Champions of 2A Basketball!
The Pirates accomplished what no other Dale boys basketball team had ever done. The Pirates have been proficient in baseball with a total of 21 State Championships but had never won the title in basketball.
