Sign Up For Bison Stampede 5K And Fun Run

Registration is open for the 6th annual Bison Stampede 5K and Fun Run. The event will take place at 7 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, during “The Weekend,” OBU’s annual homecoming event on Bison Hill. The Bison Stampede is hosted by Bison Rec-Well and includes both a 5K race and a onemile Fun Run.

New Commissioner And New City Manager Sworn Into Office

There were a lot of good things going on at the meeting of the Shawnee City Commissioners. First, Interim City Manager Eric Benson presented two $2,000 checks to local nonprofits at the Shawnee City Council meeting Monday evening.

Shawnee Approves Arvest For Scoreboard Naming

If everything goes according to plan, Shawnee High School will have a new scoreboard in place at the Ed Skelton Field and Memorial Park by March, but it will have a noticeable change. Superintendent Dr. April Grace said the scoreboard is broken and needs to be replaced.

High school seniors and current college students looking for federal and state financial aid to attend college next fall should complete the 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible.
