Robert Lee Coots passed away on Mar. 26, 2026. He was born on July 22, 1952, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was proud of his Potawatomi heritage, a descendant of the Peltier family.
He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a passionate fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma City Thunder, and many memories were made by watching games, celebrating victories, and sharing those moments with family and friends.
He is survived by his children: Timothy Coots and wife Telie Coots, Tobey Coots and wife Ellie Coots, Casey Coots, Ryan Coots and wife Whitney Coots, Nichole Parsons and husband Cole Parsons; grandchildren: Destinee Orazio, Cherish Melendez, Timothy Coots Jr, Malachi Coots, Madeline Coots, Nathaniel Coots, Maya Coots, Josh Coots, Amanda Coots, Emily Coots, Baylen Rivera, Lyla Coots, Cohen Coots, Kenedi Coots, Sawyer Parsons, Norah Parsons, Silas Parsons, and Olive Parsons; great grandchildren: Briella Orazio, Lincoln Orazio, Levi Melendez, Lainey Melendez, Sophia Coots, and Sadie Coots.
A service to celebrate his life was held at 22 E. Dunloup St. in Shawnee,OK on April 11, 2026.
