Joshua Rayburn Messamore passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2026, at the age of 42. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be remembered for his big heart and loving nature.
Josh faced life’s challenges with determination and courage. He worked hard to build a better future and was proud of the progress he made and the relationships he built and restored along the way. His journey was one of perseverance, growth, and hope, and those who loved him were proud of the strength he showed throughout his life. Josh graduated from Shawnee High School in 2002 before going on to become a dedicated employee at Bison Metals & Technologies in Shawnee, where he worked as a press operator.
Josh is survived by his parents, Terri and Danny Ball; brothers, Kurtis Ball and Jeremy Ball; sister-in-law, Victoria Ball; cherished nephew, Cameron Ball; grandparents, Charlotte Pierson, Phyllis and Rick Hamilton, and Darrell and Kathy Ball; aunts and uncles, Tammy Messamore, Kim and David Dunn, and Eddy and Denise Ball, along with many cousins and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his Grandma GG; cousin Timmy; aunts, Toni Sheppard, Julie Burleson; and grandfathers, David Pierson and Albert Rayburn Messamore.
A Celebration of Josh’s life will be held at noon on June 13, 2026 at the Glenn Collins Memorial Pavilion at Shawnee Lake.
