Jennifer (Hulin) Bourland passed away July 8, 2026 at the age of 76. She was born in Shawnee, OK on March 14,1950 to Ruth and Lavon Hulin. On Oct. 24,1966 she married the love of her life, David Bourland. Jennifer and David raised three children that were the center of their world, Jeffrey, Holly and Robyn. Jennifer worked throughout her years for Pratt’s Grocery in Tecumseh, JC Penney, Anthony’s Department Store and finally retiring in 2014 from Bison Federal Credit Union.
Jennifer and David were avid sports fans and loved all other activities involving their children.
Jennifer’s love extended as she became Manaw to her five grandchildren: Tanner, Hayley, Gabby, Tatum, and Miranda. Ball games, orchestra concerts, awards assemblies and fundraisers became her way of life. The family gathered at the Bourland Farm for holidays, birthdays and other celebrations.
Time with family was what Jennifer enjoyed the most. Family vacations were her favorite memories. She was overjoyed to witness the marriages of two of her grandchildren and the birth of her great grandson, Graham.
Jennifer loved to garden, spend time in her flower beds, make jam, pickles and salsa, watch ball games, and decorate her home so warmly for all to enjoy. She had a “green thumb” to grow anything and enjoyed sharing all of it with others. She was famous for her chocolate chip cookies that were requested by everyone that tried them. She became “Manaw” to hundreds who loved her as their own.
Jennifer is survived by her husband of 60 years, David Bourland of Seminole; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Crystal Bourland; and daughter Gabby Bourland of TN; her daughter and son-in-law, Jay and Holly Sparks of Shawnee and their children Tanner and Reagan Sparks and grandson Graham; as well as Tatum Sparks (future spouse Jacob Ellis) of Edmond; daughter and son-in-law Jake and Robyn Carey of Porter and their children, Hayley and Ethan Bleakley of Broken Arrow and Miranda Carey of Bixby; as well as her dedicated sister and best friend Laurie Hulin of Earlsboro.
Services were held for family and friends at Forest Hill Cemetery on Skagg City Road, Tecumseh, July 27.
