Jamie J.Yoder, 91, passed away Aug. 19, 2026. Jamie was born in Grenada, MS on Mar. 19, 1935 to Gaddis Elmer and Sally Laurena Dyson. She was the 4th and only survivor of 8 children having had three brothers, four sisters, a loving husband, in-laws, four sisters-in-law (spouses), several nephews and nieces (spouses), and dear friends.
Jamie is survived by her daughter, Janet and husband Rick; son, Conan Yoder; four grandchildren: Andrea and husband Joe, Brad and wife Melanie, Caleb, and Alex; seven great-grandchildren: Joey, Byrson, Kortnee; Kamryn, Italy, Maddison, and Malachi; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved and cherished.
Her cooking talents served many students at Shawnee Public Schools (Jefferson) and COJAC, as well as numerous family gatherings, etc. She served on the South Rock Creek school board for several years, was a member-officer of the Tecumseh American Legion for many years.
A celebration of Jamie’s life was held Aug. 24, 2026 at Riley-Walker Funeral Service & Crematory with Ken Kerbo officiating. Jamie will be laid to rest privately next to her husband Walter at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee.
