Karen L. Birge, born April 16, 1954, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered around her faith and family. She married Charles M. Birge on Aug. 4, 1971, and on Sept. 24, 1973, welcomed her only son, Charles “Charlie” Melvin Birge, Jr.
Karen spent more than 20 years in the medical field, caring for others with the same kindness and compassion she showed her family. She had an unwavering love for God and was especially proud to be a grandmother to Jasmine and Karley Birge, along with her two great-grandsons and beautiful great-granddaughter. She had lots of nieces and nephews she loved deeply, as well.
She loved listening to Elvis, caring for her birds, and spending time with her family. Christmas was a huge deal in her home, as she would spend hours in the kitchen cooking and baking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her beloved son, Charlie; her sister Loretta Thompson; and her parents, James and Aline Gallagher.
On Sept. 2, 2026, Karen left behind a legacy of love, faith, and countless cherished memories. She is now reunited with those she loved most and resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord.
