Lilburn Cosper, 85, of Tecumseh, OK, died Dec. 13, 2021, in Shawnee. He was born Aug. 11, 1936, to James and Mary (Dunn) Cosper in Colony, Oklahoma.

Lilburn was raised in Colony, OK, and graduated from high school in Corn, OK, with the class of 1954.

He married his high school sweetheart, Darla J. Melton, Jan. 8, 1955 in Colony, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2014.

Lilburn and Darla made their home in Colony until moving to Mustang when he began his career with Scrivener Foods later becoming Fleming Foods until his retirement. He has lived in Tecumseh for the last 50 years.

Lilburn was a member of Living Love Christian Center in Shawnee. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, football and watching old western shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Venita Spoon; son, Jerry Cosper; grandson, Michael McCathern; sisters, Virginia, and Ethelda; and brother, Jimmy.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jeanne Jones and Rick Heathorn of Tecumseh, OK, and Gloria and Rex Elmore of Shawnee, OK; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother, James Cosper, Jr. of Las Cruces, NM; and other extended family and friends.

Service was Dec. 20, 2021, at Living Love Christian Center in Shawnee with Pastor Mark Guinn officiating. Burial followed at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. The celebration of Lilburn’s life through Cooper Funeral Home’s Facebook page livestreamed the service
