    Richard James “Rick” Knight, 81, of Oklahoma City, died Dec. 24, 2021.

    He was born Nov. 25, 1940, to Charley George & Beatrice Elizabeth (Dossey) Fisher. Rick was raised on a farm and grew up mainly in Meeker and Shawnee, OK.

    He graduated from Meeker High SChool in 1958. Rick received a scholarship from OSU and OBU for baseball. He worked as a forester in Oregon for 6-9 months and lived in a one-room cabin. Rick loved to coon hunt and always had coon dogs. He also enjoyed fishing. Rick worked at Sylvania and at Pinkerton as a truck driver. He worked at different loan companies and was a loan manager. Rich worked at Four Seasons and was a car lot owner (Knight’s Auth Center) and a thrift store owner (Value Thrift Store).

    In addition, he worked at Budget Rental, and he retired from the Railroad.

    Rick loved mashed potatoes and gravy and loved to smoke on the grill and BBQ, and he cooked a mean steak.

    He was a huge fan of the Oklahoma Sooners.

    Rick is survived by his wife of the home, Sophia Knight; along with his children son Randy Knight and his wife Lila, daughter Teri Hansen and husband, Paul, son Christopher Knight and wife, Tiasha, and son, Greg Farley; seven grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; sister, Mary Ellen Lam, of Shawnee; and numerous cousins, family and friends

    He is preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Fisher; father, Charley Fisher; and his former wives Mary Teresa Hoyle and Glenda Knight.

    Service was held Jan. 3, 2022, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, located in Moore, OK. Following the service, he was buried at Rose Hill Burial Park, in Oklahoma City.
