Richard Walters passed away September 9, 2022. Richard was born on November 21, 1943, to Arlin D. and Clara Lilly (Scheller) Walters in Durham, NC. He graduated from high school in Hobbs, New Mexico in 1961. Richard received his Master ’s Degree in Banking from the Colorado School of Banking. He served as Senior Vice President of Bancfirst in Shawnee, then retired in 2013 as President of American Heritage Bank in Sand Springs. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and cousins Gary Walters, Penny Fish, and Ernie Waggoner.
Survivors include his beloved wife Barbara of Shawnee, son Terry and wife Fiona of Berkeley, CA, daughter Stacy Walters and fiancé Steve Martin of Shawnee, siblings: Robbie Walters and Debbie Flanders of San Antonio, TX, Nita Chaney and husband Bob Brown of Hobbs, NM, grandchildren: Blake Moses, Kathryn Walters & Madeline Walters. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral & Cremation Service.
