The Shawnee High School Boys and Girls Swim Teams hosted Bixby, Plainview, Lone Grove, Ada and Byng swimmers at the Shawnee YMCA on Nov. 17.
The 200-Yard Medley Relay, in both the boys and girls, was won by Shawnee. The girls team was made up of seniors Piper McNeil and Natalie Selman and sophomores Gracyn Simpson and Ashley McDonald. Their time was 2:00.37. On the all-senior boys team were Ethan Oller, Maddox Smith, Vincent Tash, and Thurman Lee, with a time of 1:47.65. Bixby came in second for both races.
In the Girls 200-Yard Freestyle, Selman took first with a 2:09.03, and junior Emma Oller came in third with a 2:21.47. For the Boys 200 Yard Freestyle, Lee placed second with a 1:51.90, and senior Maddox Smith came in fifth at 2:14.48.
For the girls 200-Yard Individual Medley, McNeil took first at 2:08.75. In the Boys 200-Yard Individual Medley, Tash placed second with 2:19.64, and junior Traydn Rakestraw was in fifth with 2:38.62.
In the Girls 50-Yard Freestyle, Simpson was first with a 26.81, freshman Tenielle Kidd placed second with a 30.60, and Harlee Bullard, Jadelyn Shotts and Dalaney Uranga took the fifth through seventh slots. For the Boys 50-Yard Freestyle, Lee placed first with a time of 23.18, and sophomore Kameron Williams-Heard came in fifth.
For the Girls 100-Yard Butterfly, Clara Timmons placed second with a 1:11.78. In the Boys 100-Yard Butterfly, Tash took first at 1:02.29.
McDonald and Emma Oller took first and second place, respectively, in the Girls 100-Yard Freestyle. McDonald had a 1:01.13, and Oller’s time was 1:05.13. Bullard and Uranga placed sixth and seventh, respectively.
Ethan Oller took first in the Boys 100-Yard Freestyle, and Williams-Heard placed fifth.
McNeil and Timmons took the top two spots in the Girls 500-Yard Freestyle. McNeil had a time of 5:12.00, and Timmons was at 6:08.11. Freshman Jackson Oller placed fourth in the Boys 500-Yard Freestyle with a 6:06.87.
In the Girls 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, Shawnee took first with a 2:14.47. The team was composed of Emma Oller, Bullard, Kidd, and Timmons. Bixby took the top three slots in the Boys 200-Yard Freestyle Relay.
For the Girls 100-Yard Backstroke, Simpson and Kidd took the top two places, with times of 1:06.47 and 1:13.48, respectively. Shotts placed sixth. In the boys race, Jackson Oller and Rakestraw placed third and fourth, with 1:08.94 and 1:10.35, respectively.
Selman and McDonald placed first and second in the Girls 100-Yard Breastroke with a 1:13.13 and a 1:19.50, respectively. Ethan Oller placed first in the Boys 100-Yard Breastroke, with a 1:05.89, and Smith placed third with a 1:12.65.
Shawnee placed first in the Girls 400-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:57.26. McNeil, Mc-Donald, Selman, and Simpson were on the team. In the Boys 400-Yard Freestyle Relay, Shawnee placed second with a 3:37.42. Tash, Smith, Ethan Oller, and Lee made up the team.
Shawnee won in the team scores with 685 points. The women had 378 points, and the men had 307 points.
The next Shawnee swim meet will be on Nov. 29 at 5 pm and will host Harrah at the Shawnee YMCA.
