Timothy Cannon

Timothy Kip Cannon was born on Jan. 20, 1950 in Shawnee, OK. He passed away on Aug. 24, 2025. Tim graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1968; then graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors in Forestry. He worked for the US Forest Service during the summers on a fire crew, while his wife and daughter lived on a look-out tower in the Coconino National Forest. In 1972 they moved to Starkville, MS where Tim worked on his Masters in Remote Sensing at Mississippi State University. After receiving his degree, Tim spent two years working at Auburn University He worked around the world and used his mapping skills to help under-developed countries better use their resources.

Back home in Tecumseh, he started his own business; CrossTimbers Forestry.

He is preceded in death by his parents Philip Owen Cannon and Julianna Connelly Cannon.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Linda Cannon; his daughter Branda (Rowdy) Gilpin; son Owen (Stefanie) Cannon; five grandchildren: Timothy (Megan) Gilpin, Erika (Tommy) Smith, Nikolas Cannon, Brandan Cannon, and Juli (Derrick) Cannon; four great-grandchildren Kamron (Braliegh “that girl”) Gilpin, Jase Smith, Asher Gilpin, and Finnegan Gilpin.

Per Tim’s wishes no formal services will be held. Cremation arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
