Mary Ann (Balentine) McGee passed away Sept. 12, 2025. Mary was born on Feb. 4, 1940 in Okemah, OK to Arvil Balentine and Alpha (Stroud) Balentine.
Mary graduated from Okemah High School then married Robert Lee McGee in Okemah, OK. She remained happily married until Robert’s death on Dec. 19, 2003. Mary was the owner of a restaurant in Shawnee operating as Mary’s Kitchen on Harrison St. She last worked as a bookkeeper and manager of Ken Del Manor Apartments in Shawnee before her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: James Balentine, Arvil Balentine Jr., and Arlis Balentine; and two sisters: Lora and Geraldine.
She is survived by two sons: Robert McGee and wife Rebecca of Conroe, TX and Richard McGee and wife Leisa of Shawnee; a sister, Janie Lovett of AK; two grandchildren, Ashley and husband Blake Mutz, Eric McGee and wife Rachel; one great grandchild, Alanys Mutz all from Shawnee.
Viewing for Mary will be held on Sept. 18, 2025 at McElyea & Owens Funeral Group at 5106 N. Harrison in Shawnee from 2:30pm until 8pm. A funeral will be held on Sept. 19, 2025 at 2pm at Living Word Church in Shawnee with Pastor Cliff Briscoe officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group.
