David Ray Griner passed away on Oct. 1, 2025, at the age of 89. Dave was born on Feb. 26, 1936, to Albert L and Janice Griner in Shawnee, OK.
He was a 1954 graduate of Shawnee High School and enlisted in the National Guard, 45th Infantry on April 1, 1958. On Dec. 25, 1958, Dave married Kirby Griner. He began his career at Brackeen Buick working until 1960, when he became self-employed at Dave Griner Brake and Front End, where he worked for 42 years.
Dave is survived by two nieces and two nephews, Carolyn Lowder of Hermitage, TN; Sue Archer and her husband Rick of Choctaw, OK; Mel Smith of Choctaw, OK and Charles Smith, of Midwest City, OK. He is also survived by six great-nephews and one great-niece; Dustin Archer, Charlie Smith, Skyler Smith, Henry Mc-Donald, Rob Lowder, Jon Lowder, and Crystal Davis. He is also survived by Sister in law Dorothy Phillips and husband Charles; brother in law Ronald Cox and wife Karen; Brother in law Pat Hathcock and wife Mary.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Kirby Griner; parents, Albert and Janie Griner; brother Albert L. Griner, Jr; two sisters, Autis Cable and Frances Wisniewski; and niece Sharon Wright-Avelinio.
Services were held at Resthaven Funeral Home, Shawnee, on Oct. 15, 2025.
