Gary Lynn Dennington was born on Sept. 18, 1941 in Seminole, OK and passed away on Dec. 6, 2025. Gary graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1959. He married Rachel Waller on May 14,1959. He attended Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee and after graduation began working at Texas Instruments for the next 19 years. He then worked at Allen-Bradley (TDK) where he retired after 30 years.
Gary enjoyed volunteering for the International Finals Youth Rodeo every summer for approximately 15 Years.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Rose Ellen King Dennington; his father, Homer Travis Dennington; two brothers and two sisters; one grandson, Rhett Clark; and one great granddaughter, Naomi Adkins.
He is survived by his wife Rachel of 66 years; daughters: Darla, Debbie and son in law Tim Akins, Sheri and son-in-law Mark Chaney; eight grandchildren: Brandi Robertson, Chelsea Clark, Zack Clark, Laura Akins, Andrew Akins, Megan Wilson, Tipton Stafford, Clayton Stafford; and 21 great grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 10, 2025 at The First Baptist Church in Meeker with Pastor Joe Jones officiating. A committal service was held at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker. All services are under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee.
