Jimmie Wayne Wilkerson passed away Dec. 13. 2025. Jimmie was born on May 15, 1943 in Seminole, OK to Hershel Woodrow Wilkerson and Lois Lee (Summers) Wilkerson. Jimmie graduated from Seminole High School. Following his graduation, he married Wilberta Hamon in Seminole on Dec. 21, 1963. They remained happily married for 62 years. Jimmie worked at Tinker Air Force Base in a civil service position as a B-52 Tech Specialist for over 40 years before his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his two brothers: Ormal Dee Wilkerson and Wesley Elroy Wilkerson.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Wilberta Wilkerson of the home; two sons, Michael Wayne Wilkerson and wife Elizabeth of Merritt Island, FL; Jeffrey Scott Wilkerson and wife Diane Wilkerson of San Diego CA; a daughter, Cheryl Lambert and her husband, Donny Lambert of Shawnee; by nine grandchildren: Natasha French, Britni Wilkerson, Dylan Wilkerson, Patrick Patterson & wife Cordia, Colten Lambert, Shali Lambert, Keylee Lambert, Emma Wilkerson, and Caleb Wilkerson; six great grandchildren, Chase French, Frankie French, Bentley Lambert, Kaden Lambert, Brooklynn Wilkerson, and McKenna Patterson; and by other extended family and many good friends.
A celebration of life service for Jimmie will be held on Dec. 20, 2025 at 2 pm at Faith Community Church of God at 43005 E MacArthur in Shawnee with Pastor Kim Lanman officiating. Services are under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee.
The family has designated The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research, PO Box 4077, New York, NY 10163-4777 as appropriated for memorial donations.
