Billie Lora Hickey passed away May 2, 2025 at the age of 85.
Services were held May 7, 2025 at Romulus Baptist Church. Burial followed at Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee.
Cora LaVonne Vail Cora Lavonne Vail passed away April 29, 2025 at the age of 97 years. Lavonne was born on Dec. 7, 1927 to Robert Boyd and Alpha Friend in Okemah, OK. Lavonne attended schools in Shawnee, OK and Bacone College in Muskogee, OK. Her career was spent as a legal secretary, homemaker, mother, Girl Scout leader and Bible teacher. Lavonne was an excellent seamstress and clothing designer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Theodore Vail and parents, Robert and Alpha Friend.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Eugene Vail and wife Leslie of Greeley, CO, grandson, Levi Vail and wife Sandra of Eagle River, AK, granddaughter, Lauren Vail of Greeley, CO, sisters, Bertha Combs Akin and Bobbie Hulsey and spouse Embree Hulsey of Shawnee, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held on May 5, 2025 at the Walker Funeral Chapel. She was laid to rest next to her husband at Calvary Cemetery.
